KMT precision nuts with security dowel

Precision locking nuts KMT are mainly developed for precision bearings, and the dimensions of the nut are adjusted accordingly. Precision locking nuts have three locking pins distributed around the circumference of the nut. The locking pins are pressed against the thread of the shaft with the help of stop screws and, as a result, the resulting pressure friction prevents the nut from turning.

The locking pins and stop screws have the same slope to the shaft as the nut threaded flanks. This slope facilitates mounting in tight spaces. The ends of the pins are processed in the same operation as the nut thread and therefore have a threaded profile. Since the locking pins are not deformed when tightening, the nuts retain their high precision, regardless of how often they are mounted and removed. Neither lock washer nor keyway in the shaft is required.
