Pillowblocks: Efficient and Adaptable
Pillowblocks combine a housing with a spherical seat and a bearing with a matching spherical outer diameter to provide self-aligning properties. This allows the pillowblocks to compensate for minor misalignments and ensures stable operation.
The housings are available in cast iron, steel plate, zinc alloy, composite, or stainless steel. The insert bearings are typically made of chromium steel, with an option for stainless steel. The units are manufactured according to European standard (E) and are lifetime lubricated but may require re-lubrication under extreme operating conditions.
Advantages
- Easy installation with few fastening bolts
- Suitable for various shaft tolerances
- Self-aligning and resistant to shock loads
Key Considerations
- Choose the appropriate housing material and check load and environmental requirements.
- Use the correct fixing method and ensure that shaft tolerances are matched.
